Procurement Engineer in Qatar

About the Role

Join BAE Systems as a Procurement Engineer based in Dukhan, Al Shahaniya, Qatar. You will be part of a dynamic, on-base team working closely with the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) customer, acting as the primary procurement lead for all activities at the Dukhan site. Your main focus will be to efficiently and compliantly deliver procurement requirements while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, ensuring seamless coordination and success of operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the central point of contact for all on-site procurement activities, overseeing supplier performance and delivery to expectations.
• Develop and execute a bespoke Dukhan Procurement Plan while adhering strictly to BAE Systems' procurement governance, policies, and processes.
• Establish and maintain trusted relationships with suppliers to support current operations and anticipate future program demands within Qatar.
• Collaborate with requirement owners and stakeholders to understand user needs, select appropriate suppliers, and guarantee accurate and timely fulfillment of procurement requirements.
• Prepare and manage critical procurement documents such as DFMs, purchase orders, payment plans, certificates of acceptance, and invoices to ensure compliant contract execution.
• Provide procurement expertise throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle to ensure value for money, regulatory compliance, and continuous supply.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Possession of MCIPS Level 5 certification or proactive progress toward its completion, alongside strong knowledge of procurement best practices and governance.
• Experience in procurement roles such as Procurement Engineer, Procurement Specialist, or Buyer involving end-to-end sourcing and supplier relationship management.
• Background working within tightly regulated sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Energy, or related industries.
• Familiarity with procurement legislation and compliance requirements including export controls, labor laws, and commercial governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated capability to engage, negotiate, and cultivate relationships with suppliers across diverse cultural and geographical settings to ensure successful contract outcomes.

Additional Information

• Salary is 8,333 QAR per month, subject to experience.
• Role based fully on-site in Qatar with flexible and hybrid working arrangements available upon discussion.
