Process Technician

Job Overview

This role involves operating and maintaining a high-volume automated production line focused on manufacturing quality lenses. A subset of technicians will also handle calibration support during off-day shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults on the production line to maintain continuous output.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at product yield and quality enhancement.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety standards are upheld to minimize negative impacts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation aligning with company housekeeping standards.
• Foster a culture grounded in the company’s Credo and Behavioral Standards.
• For selected technicians supporting calibration: execute calibration activities during off-hour shifts, report any deviations from calibration protocols, maintain calibration equipment and supplies, document calibration histories, and assist with internal and external quality audits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Mandatory: Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Moulding, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferred: 4 to 5 years of experience with technologies such as pneumatic systems, PLCs, machine automation, equipment setup, and pick-and-place machinery.
• Additional valuable experience includes packaging and print equipment handling, high-volume manufacturing, mechanical setup, injection moulding, electro-mechanical qualifications, apprenticeships, and calibration proficiency.
