About the Role

We are seeking a Process Engineer specializing in press shop operations to join a premier automotive manufacturing facility located in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves driving process developments, optimizing manufacturing workflows, tooling performance, and sustaining production quality within high-volume automotive press shop environments, particularly Laser Blanking and Tandem Press Lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, validate, and continually enhance press shop manufacturing processes, focusing on Laser Blanking Line and Tandem Press Line operations.
  • Oversee process parameters, machine configurations, and tooling needs for both new and existing component productions.
  • Facilitate trials, conduct capability analyses, process auditing, and ensure production readiness.
  • Monitor the performance of dies, coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime, and stabilize manufacturing processes.
  • Support die tryouts, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and facilitate successful launches of new or modified tooling.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to bolster equipment reliability and enhance preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyze quality concerns in partnership with tooling, maintenance, quality assurance, and operations teams.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies, including 5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams, and PDCA cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to quality benchmarks, customer specifications, company protocols, and audit standards.
  • Identify and deploy productivity enhancements, scrap reduction strategies, and optimize cycle times.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen events, SMED practices, and waste elimination projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, process flow charts, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Provide technical expertise supporting new product launches and engineering modifications.
  • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and tooling units to facilitate seamless operations on the shop floor.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in the automotive sector, specifically within press shop environments involving stamping, blanking, tooling support, or new die launches.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), process documentation, PFMEA, control plan development, and process flow optimization.
  • Proven experience in audit support and corrective action implementation.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, listening skills, and operational coordination abilities.
  • Capable of working autonomously, prioritizing multiple tasks, and managing shop floor demands effectively.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as necessitated by operational requirements.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
