Role Overview

Join the City of Newcastle as a Principal Strategic Planner specializing in Contributions, playing a pivotal role in guiding how local infrastructure and affordable housing contributions enable Newcastle’s sustainable growth. This full-time, permanent role offers a 35-hour workweek with various flexible arrangements to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities

In this senior capacity, you will lead the planning, development, management, and refinement of contribution frameworks that underpin the city's growth strategies. Supporting the Strategic & Place Planning Manager, you will oversee daily team operations, spearhead complex strategic projects, and enhance best practices in contributions planning. Your duties also include shaping long-term planning policies, mentoring team members, elevating organizational capabilities, and nurturing productive partnerships with stakeholders to achieve exemplary planning outcomes for Newcastle.
