Job Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Planner to join our Brisbane office. This role is ideal for a well-established planning expert possessing extensive industry networks, excellent commercial insight, and a thorough understanding of the planning and development landscape. The position entails guiding clients through evolving conditions, discovering strategic solutions, and delivering advice that blends technical skill with awareness of market and policy contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage intricate planning and advisory assignments across development, infrastructure, and government domains.
• Deliver reliable advice on matters related to planning, policy implementation, governance, and growth challenges.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships within property, development, infrastructure, and government sectors.
• Monitor emerging trends, policy shifts, and market prospects influencing client strategies.
• Collaborate with clients to formulate practical and commercially viable solutions to meet their goals.
• Contribute to proposal development and business expansion efforts while supporting the regional growth of Veris’s Queensland operations, with prospects for development across their national network.
• Oversee project commercial aspects such as scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and outcome delivery.
• Work in partnership with experts in planning, urban design, geographic information systems, surveying, and other advisory areas.
• Provide mentorship to up-and-coming planning professionals.
• Support the ongoing advancement and transformation of Veris Consulting & Advisory.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, advisory, or comparable consulting functions.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in development planning, strategic planning, government advisory services, or related areas.
• Strong and respected industry network particularly in Brisbane and Queensland's planning, development, and government sectors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of policies, regulations, and market dynamics affecting growth and development within Queensland.
• Experience collaborating with developers, landowners, and both local and state government bodies.
• Proven ability to spot opportunities, foster trustful partnerships, and transform engagements into sustainable client relations.
• Excellent commercial acumen, communication aptitude, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Confidence and discretion to serve as a senior consultant on challenging and sensitive projects.
• Team-oriented mindset with enthusiasm to contribute across multiple projects, disciplines, and geographic areas.
