About the Role
Our client is a leading provider of innovative healthcare solutions seeking to immediately fill the position of Principal Research Scientist on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and enhancement of oral solid dosage forms, such as tablets and chewable tablets intended for animals.
- Drive formulation efforts from prototype development through to commercial production transfer.
- Apply expert knowledge in wet and dry granulation, blending, tableting, coating techniques, bioavailability enhancement, controlled drug release, taste masking, and Quality by Design (QbD) principles.
- Collaborate effectively with Research & Development, Production, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs departments.
- Manage and provide technical guidance to external collaborators including CROs and CDMOs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare and review regulatory Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) documentation.
- Evaluate new technologies and licensing opportunities for integration.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to scientists and technical experts across the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline; a PhD is an advantage.
- Extensive practical experience in developing and manufacturing oral solid dosage forms, particularly tablets and/or chewable tablets.
- Strong understanding of GMP standards and international regulatory guidelines such as ICH and VICH.
- Proven track record in successfully transferring drug products from lab-scale development to commercial manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience working within global matrix organizations.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
