Overview

The Principal Product Manager owns the success of the In-Flight solutions within the Flightscape suite. This pivotal role is tasked with crafting and championing the overall Product Vision and Strategy, ensuring cohesive alignment between business ambitions, customer demands, and priorities across various Agile Release Trains under the SAFe framework.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the collective Flightscape portfolio strategy by partnering with product, portfolio, technology, and platform divisions.
  • Promote a cooperative, accountable, and high-achieving product environment through close collaboration with Product Marketing, Product Owners, UX, and Technology teams.
  • Develop and nurture strategic connections with key airline customers and represent the firm at relevant industry gatherings and customer forums within the Digital and Traveller Touchpoints sector.
  • Conduct careful assessment of airline industry requirements, challenges, and emerging market trends to pinpoint strategic investment opportunities.
  • Champion product discovery efforts to validate core assumptions and guide investment choices prior to commencing major development, testing, or deployment efforts.
  • Create sustained feedback mechanisms both internally and externally to inform product priorities, leveraging customer insights and live production data when possible.
  • Steer product prioritization and decision-making ensuring adherence to overarching product vision and strategic goals.
  • Formulate and implement the product area strategy to enhance product uptake, customer value delivery, and commercial performance.
  • Enhance platform capabilities and infrastructure to facilitate scalable expansion and seamless integration with airline customer services.
  • Set clear and measurable business targets, revisiting these regularly to keep product teams aligned with vision and strategy.
  • Manage a virtual profit and loss framework focusing on balancing revenue potential with cost efficiency.
  • Pursue continuous enhancements in team productivity, collaborative practices, workflows, and effective use of time.
  • Collaborate on sales preparedness initiatives alongside Product Marketing Managers.
  • Support sales enablement through partnership with Customer Engagement teams.
  • Actively engage in Programme Increment planning sessions and key ceremonies under the SAFe methodology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Aviation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 7 years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, or senior product leadership.
  • More than 7 years working experience in airline catering operations.
  • Proven track record in defining and executing product vision, roadmaps, strategy, and business goals for complex software platforms.
  • Experience operating within Agile environments, preferably SAFe or similar scaled frameworks.
  • Skilled in managing product portfolios balancing diverse customer needs, commercial priorities, and technical constraints.
  • Competent in utilizing customer feedback, market studies, analytics, and performance metrics to guide product decisions.
  • Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiating alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to unify cross-functional teams and stakeholders behind a shared product vision and strategy.
  • Experience driving product adoption, business expansion, and commercial success.
