About the Role

Join WSP's Ground & Water Team in Ireland as a Principal Hydrogeologist, contributing to impactful projects with support from leading experts who develop industry-standard software like ConSim and LandSim. Key Responsibilities

• Lead hydrogeological projects and manage staff within environmental consultancy services.
• Manage complex projects with strong commercial awareness, ensuring timely financial processes.
• Provide technical guidance, review colleagues' work, and offer constructive feedback.
• Interpret geological and hydrogeological data to develop conceptual models and risk assessments.
• Utilize and learn modeling software such as ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow, and Seep/W.
• Engage in activities including hydrogeological risk assessments, dewatering, groundwater resource evaluations, pumping and yield tests, modeling, borehole prognosis, abstraction, and geothermal assessments.
• Champion adherence to processes, procedures, and health, safety, and wellbeing culture.
• Pursue professional Chartership or equivalent qualifications with clear progress milestones.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and collaborating across teams.
• Prepare and deliver accurate, understandable complex reports and proposals, particularly for projects exceeding £100k in value.
• Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining quality through review and feedback.
• Develop specialist skills aligned with career goals and contribute to specialist reporting with limited supervision.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience managing hydrogeological data and constructing evidence-based conceptual models in consultancy, regulatory, or industrial settings.
• Demonstrated ability in preparing both factual and interpretative reports, with evidence of reporting competence where possible.
• Proficiency in risk assessment modeling software including ConSim, RTM, and LandSim.
• A collaborative and motivated team player contributing positively to team dynamics.
• Postgraduate qualification (MTech, MSc, or PhD) in Hydrogeology or related field.
