Principal GPU Hardware Verification Engineer

Role Overview

This position provides a distinctive chance to apply your hardware verification expertise on advanced designs within the renowned PowerVR Graphics Hardware group. You will work on critical components that satisfy the latest requirements and enhancements for graphics IP.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all verification efforts for a GPU component or subsystem from initial planning stages through to final approval.
• Formulate verification plans and construct and maintain UVM-based test bench elements.
• Track and report progress using verification metrics to ensure completion.
• Offer verification-centered feedback during design specification discussions.
• Develop and implement UVM testbenches including tests, sequences, functional coverage models, assertions, and comprehensive verification plans.
• Take responsibility for defining tasks, estimating efforts, and monitoring progress.
• Improve and evolve GPU verification techniques and methodologies.
• Guide, mentor, and assist team members in verification processes.
• Participate in design and verification reviews and recommend enhancements as needed.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in creating verification environments for intricate RTL designs.
• Strong grasp of constrained-random verification techniques and methods to achieve verification closure.
• Skilled at specifying verification needs, determining implementation strategies, and designing testbenches.
• Expertise in analyzing root causes of complicated issues and resolving them effectively.
• Deep proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Experience developing and optimizing verification workflows.
• Familiarity with ASIC design methodologies, tooling, and flows.
• Ability to plan, estimate, and track individual tasks efficiently.
• Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Effective verbal and written communication of technical matters.

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience in leading teams.
• Understanding of Graphics, GPU, CPU, or SoC architectures.
• Knowledge of complementary verification technologies such as formal property-based verification (FPV).
• Experience in programming and scripting languages including Python, TCL, Perl, SystemC, or C++.
• Awareness of functional safety standards like ISO26262.
