Principal Engineer – Master Data Management (MDM)

About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable Principal Engineer specializing in Master Data Management (MDM) to spearhead the enterprise-wide MDM strategy, architecture, governance, and transformation efforts for a prominent Banking and Financial Services institution located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Candidates must bring extensive experience managing Oracle MDM platforms and a strong background in related Oracle ecosystem technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the enterprise MDM vision, strategy, and governance frameworks aligned with business and regulatory priorities.
• Manage comprehensive Oracle MDM services including components such as Siebel UCM, OEDQ, and ODI across multiple domains and geographic locations.
• Promote data standardization, implement stewardship models, and enforce robust data quality frameworks at the enterprise level.
• Ensure that the MDM platform is scalable, secure, resilient, and performs optimally throughout all operational environments.
• Direct the architecture, integration, and data flows between core banking systems, channels, and other enterprise platforms.
• Lead substantial MDM transformation initiatives including regulatory compliance projects.
• Institute and maintain governance protocols ensuring audit readiness and compliance with Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) and other regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate advanced analytics, artificial intelligence integration, and data monetization capabilities by leveraging reliable master data.
• Engage with executive-level stakeholders spanning business units, IT, and data management functions to ensure alignment and strategic progress.
• Oversee the vendor management lifecycle including contract negotiations, delivery oversight, and cost control.
• Maintain strong IT Service Management processes encompassing incident, problem, and change management procedures.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to architects, technical leads, subject matter experts, and high-performing team members.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least 15 years of professional experience within Data Management or Enterprise Application domains.
• Minimum of 8 years of in-depth, hands-on experience with MDM platforms, with a preference for Oracle MDM expertise.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MDM architecture, master data modeling, governance, and data quality management.
• Proficient with the Oracle technology suite including Siebel UCM, OEDQ, ODI, EBS/Fusion applications, APIs, and Middleware.
• Track record of managing large-scale transformation projects in highly regulated environments, preferably within banking and financial services.
• Strong familiarity with cloud infrastructures, enterprise architecture, and related IT environments.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in stakeholder engagement, global delivery operations, and vendor management.
• Certification credentials such as Oracle, Cloud platforms, Data Governance, or ITIL are considered a plus.
