About the Role
Join the Market Services Trade Validation team to lead and influence the next stage of our post-trade platform transformation. This team focuses on creating a digital-first post-trade lifecycle by closely collaborating with business units and leveraging modern cloud and AI-enhanced technologies. The goal is to reduce manual processes, implement controls earlier in the trade process, and ensure data accuracy at the source.

Role Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands-on engineering leader, guiding architecture, delivery, and technical vision of a large financial platform.
- Actively write and review production Java code and pull requests.
- Design microservices-based systems and uphold high engineering standards across teams.
- Mentor engineers and encourage team ownership and accountability.
- Transform complex problems into clear technical solutions.
- Mitigate delivery risks and facilitate sound technical decision-making with appropriate autonomy.
Skills and Experience Required
- Comprehensive software engineering background with extensive Java/JVM expertise and proven success delivering enterprise-critical platforms.
- Proficiency with Java 17+, JavaScript, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
- Experience in distributed system architecture, microservices design, scalable backend development, and API-first integrations.
- Cloud-native engineering skills, ideally with AWS, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, system observability, and operational resilience.
- Familiarity with data storage and messaging technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, MSSQL, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, and RESTful services.
- Strong leadership capabilities including mentoring, team development, and fostering a culture of trust, clarity, and ownership.
- Sound architectural judgement to make quality technical choices, manage risks, and impose structure in ambiguous scenarios.
- Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or AWS Bedrock.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to align tech strategies with business priorities, commercial goals, and platform stability.
- Background in financial markets, post-trade processes, OTC derivatives, or agentic AI systems is highly advantageous.
