Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Electrical Engineer with expertise in high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical systems to join our Dublin office. This position blends technical leadership, consultancy, and project execution for intricate projects spanning data centers, life sciences, food, and medical technology industries.

You will serve as a subject matter expert, spearheading the design of HV/MV electrical installations, providing strategic advice to clients on power infrastructure, and ensuring the implementation of safe, efficient, and standards-compliant solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and technical specifications for HV/MV installations including substations, transformers, and distribution networks.
  • Conduct power system analyses such as load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
  • Deliver consultancy services to clients including feasibility assessments, due diligence, and infrastructure strategy development.
  • Ensure all designs and operations comply with IEC/EN standards and industry best practices.
  • Support multidisciplinary project teams through design reviews, risk evaluation, and project delivery coordination.
  • Maintain critical technical communications with clients, utilities, and suppliers.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Between 10 and 15+ years of professional experience in HV/MV electrical design and consulting roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HV electrical systems, relevant standards, and experience with power system modeling tools such as Caneco, ETAP, and SKM.
  • Prior exposure to projects in industrial sectors, data centres, or life sciences is highly valued.
  • Chartered electrical engineer status is preferred or actively pursuing chartership.
  • Strong technical prowess coupled with effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
