Job description
Overview
The Principal will be responsible for delivering strategic leadership encompassing academic, research, and administrative functions to drive excellence in education and institutional growth in accordance with the university’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the research environment by producing high-caliber papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science journals.
- Secure external research funding from prominent agencies like DST, DBT, SERB, ICMR, ICSSR, and industry partnerships, encouraging cross-disciplinary collaborations.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving the institution's standings in national and international rankings and accreditations such as NIRF, NAAC, NBA, QS, and THE through better research metrics, faculty excellence, student achievements, placements, and global outreach.
- Ensure timely submission of all necessary accreditation and regulatory compliance documentation, adherence to UGC, AICTE, and other statutory requirements, and transparent policy formulation.
- Oversee financial management and strengthen engagement with students, alumni, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Promote innovation in teaching and learning methodologies including outcome-based education, digital and experiential learning approaches.
Eligibility and Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. holder with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a professor.
- Distinguished research track record featuring Q1 or Q2 publications and successfully secured external research funding.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in academic administration, particularly in managing rankings and accreditation procedures.
- Preferably from IIT or NIT backgrounds in CSE or ECE with experience in international collaborations and leading large academic institutions.
Additional Information
The Principal will report directly to the Vice-Chancellor. Tenure and remuneration will be in accordance with the university's established norms.
