Overview
Honeywell UOP is looking for an experienced Principal Account Manager to cover the entire Qatar region. You will be the main point of contact for customers and manage the product portfolio sales while fostering new and ongoing business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate Honeywell's value propositions, key initiatives, and messages to both assigned and prospective customers.
- Leverage industry knowledge, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the Honeywell UOP portfolio.
- Formulate and implement strategies to acquire new customers and expand business with existing clients by introducing innovative technology deployments.
- Collaborate across Honeywell functions and industry stakeholders to create a cohesive roadmap, including joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and alliances.
- Work closely with sales and technical teams to achieve business growth and ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, upstream/midstream and downstream operators, sequestration hub developers, EPC contractors, and local partners.
- Understand customer business drivers, buying behaviors, and decision-making processes to tailor engagement and maximize sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with the Customer Success Organization and external consultants to maintain strong customer relationships.
- Achieve agreed annual sales targets including revenue, margins, volumes, pricing, and product mix.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline data using SFDC and work alongside Credit & Collections to manage receivables and minimize overdue payments.
- Lead negotiations, close deals, and handle agreement preparation and purchase orders ensuring customer satisfaction and order fulfillment.
- Support commercial proposal development within agreed timelines to meet business requirements.
- Provide market and competitive insights to internal teams to strengthen Honeywell’s value proposition.
- Promote Honeywell UOP products at all customer levels and coordinate cross-functional collaboration within the wider Honeywell organization.
- Lead opportunity assessment processes including NDA, credit/risk reviews, compliance, and financial diligence.
- Drive a positive business culture by motivating and guiding team members toward achieving growth and customer success.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years professional experience, with at least 5 years in sales or business development within the downstream petrochemical industry.
- Strong network of contacts within refining and petrochemical sectors in the Egypt market.
- Fluency in Arabic and English with excellent communication abilities.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Competency in managing multiple priorities in complex matrix environments.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to EPCs, FEED contractors, process technology licensors, or end users.
- Familiarity with key UOP process technologies such as Platforming, Hydroprocessing (Unionfining, Unicracking), Penex, Merox, LAB, Aromatics, catalysts, and adsorbents.
- Expertise in translating technical process knowledge into compelling customer value propositions.
- Strong project leadership and client management skills.
- Ability to perform independently within defined goals and organizational authority.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure across multiple time zones and coordinate several high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Willing to travel approximately 30% of the time to customer sites.
- Quick learner capable of applying new insights effectively within sales processes.
