Tend Health Ltd is a progressive GP practice operating multiple clinics throughout Christchurch, New Zealand. We are currently seeking a motivated Primary Care Assistant (PCA) to join our newly renovated Beckford clinic to contribute to delivering excellent patient care in a dynamic environment.

Role Overview

As a PCA, you will be integral to the patient care journey, providing welcoming and supportive interactions from the first point of contact and assisting clinicians with daily clinical tasks. This full-time, permanent position demands adaptability and offers many prospects to build professional healthcare skills and advance your career.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients in person, via telephone, messaging, and other digital platforms.
• Assist new patient registration and help create positive initial experiences.
• Support clinicians with routine clinical activities and minor medical procedures.
• Act as a chaperone during examinations as needed.
• Update patient records and take measurements within your operational scope.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Lead to support clinical performance goals and audits.
• Manage the inventory and restock of clinical supplies and linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in clinical and patient areas to ensure readiness for operations.
• Contribute to general clinic responsibilities and assist the wider team when required.

Candidate Profile

• Possess NZQA Level 3 or 4 qualification or an equivalent/higher credential.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exceptional communication skills across multiple modalities: in-person, telephone, text, and digital tools.
• Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly, adjust to changing conditions, and prosper in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities, able to handle multiple priorities in a busy clinic efficiently.
