About the Role
Transport for NSW is seeking a dedicated Precinct Safety Officer to contribute to road safety initiatives and enhance community safety within the Parkes region. This permanent full-time position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in transport safety while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and developing network solutions addressing road safety, operational, and asset management challenges.
- Support the creation of safety solutions that improve customer experiences and mitigate community risks.
- Provide regional assistance for Local Traffic Forums and safety initiatives, including behavioural road safety programs and active or public transport schemes.
- Manage the initial stages of speed zone reviews, from triage through preliminary assessment and onward handover.
- Respond promptly and professionally to minor safety inquiries raised by external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with transport programs, stakeholders, and community partners to effectively deliver safety outcomes.
Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of road safety concepts, particularly the Safe System approach.
- Experience in conducting investigations, assessments, or reviews with robust analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Well-developed organizational and problem-solving abilities.
