Overview
Join a skilled and agile design and verification team at Intel developing advanced hardware for NIC, IPU, and AI domains. As a Pre-Silicon Verification Engineer, you will ensure the accuracy and dependability of intricate designs by building comprehensive verification plans, test benches, and environments for complex IP blocks and subsystems.
You will identify and resolve pre-silicon bugs using simulation and formal property verification techniques, maintaining high performance and robustness. Intel integrates AI tools throughout verification workflows, enhancing planning, test creation, coverage analysis, and debugging processes.
About Central Engineering Group
You will be part of Intel's Central Engineering Group (CEG), responsible for crafting top-tier IPs and architectures powering NICs, IPUs, and ASIC products. The team focuses on innovations for hyperscalers, cloud providers, networking, AI, and specialized applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive IP verification plans ensuring extensive coverage of microarchitecture designs.
- Create and maintain test benches and verification environments to confirm design functionality and reliability.
- Use AI-assisted simulation tools to analyze power, timing, and detect bugs.
- Investigate test failures, determining root causes, and apply fixes in pre-silicon stage.
- Work collaboratively with architects, designers, DFT, and emulation teams to verify correctness across block and system levels.
- Enhance and sustain verification methodologies and supporting infrastructure.
- Document test plans, engage in technical reviews, and advocate verification improvements.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in functional design verification of ASIC, SOC, or FPGA circuits with expertise in SystemVerilog, OVM/UVM, and debugging tools.
- Skill in developing IP test environments and/or formal verification approaches.
- Solid grasp of digital design and microarchitecture fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering or computing field with applicable verification experience.
- Experience with formal property verification, SystemVerilog Assertions, and coverage modeling and analysis.
- Proven collaboration skills to influence architectural improvements across teams.
- Usage or passion for AI tools to enhance pre-silicon design verification.
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as Ethernet, cryptographic standards like IPSec, DTLS, MACSec.
- Experience with AMBA protocols including APB and AXI.
- Knowledge of SystemC, Python, Perl, Shell scripting, and integrating AI into verification flows.

This experienced hire role aligns with Ireland (Leixlip) location and supports a hybrid work model blending onsite and remote work.
