Pre-Sales Consultant - SAP Testing

Role Purpose

We are looking for a dynamic Pre-Sales Consultant specializing in SAP Testing with robust SAP techno-functional expertise. The role demands direct involvement with customers to provide solutioning capabilities, a profound comprehension of SAP business workflows, automation strategies, and AI-enabled testing innovations. This position serves as a critical nexus for SAP transformation advice, test strategy formulation, solution engineering, demonstration storytelling, and advancing enterprise deals. The consultant will collaborate closely with sales, product development, engineering, customer success, and client teams to craft technically sound and commercially viable SAP testing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth discovery and evaluation of clients’ SAP environments including ECC, S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, Fiori/UI5, and integrated systems.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of SAP business modules such as SD, MM, FI, PP, EWM, HR, and related functional domains.
• Identify and analyze testing challenges related to manual testing, automation coverage, regression cycles, integration validation, and release preparedness.
• Evaluate issues associated with test maintenance, test data management, execution planning, business process coverage, and inter-module dependencies.
• Convert findings into structured solution proposals and customer-centric recommendations.
• Design thorough test strategies for S/4HANA migration programs encompassing greenfield, brownfield, and selective transition scenarios.
• Develop testing methodologies tailored for RISE with SAP initiatives, Fiori modernization, steady-state SAP operations, and continued transformation projects.
• Create detailed test blueprints covering business process mapping, regression suite formulation, impact-based testing, and risk prioritization.
• Define the scope of testing activities, including functional, integration, regression, API testing, data migration validation, and interface verification.
• Consider cross-module dependencies, release lifecycles, upgrade readiness, and sector-specific SAP complexities during test planning.
• Prepare and present client-specific demonstrations focused on SAP UI5/Fiori workflow testing.
• Showcase testing approaches for SAP OData services, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs, IDocs, CPI, and PI/PO integrations.
• Articulate how contemporary SAP testing strategies reduce release risks, enhance reliability, decrease testing timelines, and support quarterly upgrade preparedness.
• Communicate automation concepts proficiently to SAP functional teams, QA leaders, Basis teams, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders using storytelling and structured narratives.
• Draft technical proposals, RFP and RFI responses, and customer-facing solution documentation.
• Assist with security and compliance questionnaire responses providing accurate, role-appropriate information.
• Develop architecture diagrams, solution outlines, testing plans, and estimation models.
• Estimate testing efforts and complexities based on SAP scope, modules, interfaces, transformation phases, and regression needs.
• Customize SAP testing frameworks to align with industries like manufacturing, BFSI, retail, and other enterprise sectors.
• Collaborate with Sales Directors to formulate persuasive SAP testing stories and client-specific value propositions.
• Lead validation workshops with SAP functional consultants, QA teams, Basis teams, architects, and transformation stakeholders.
• Address and overcome client concerns related to methodologies, automation strategies, integration reliability, migration readiness, and governance of testing processes.
• Establish success criteria for proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements and validation workshops.
• Execute PoCs tied to actual client business processes, SAP modules, integration flows, and technical contexts.
• Facilitate deal growth through technical credibility, structured solutioning, and stakeholder confidence enhancement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 8 to 10 years of combined experience in SAP functional consulting, ABAP development leadership, SAP project delivery, solution engineering, or techno-functional consulting.
• Substantial exposure to SAP engagements across consulting, project management, technical delivery, implementations, migrations, or advisory roles.
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA migrations including greenfield, brownfield, and selective transitions.
• Familiarity with RISE with SAP architecture and enterprise SAP transformation models.
• Experience working with SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, PP, EWM, HR, or similar process areas.
• Active participation in at least one S/4HANA or RISE transformation project in a core functional, technical, or consulting capacity.
• Excellent communication skills, executive presence, demonstration abilities, and solution storytelling talents.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Background in pre-sales, solution engineering, SAP advisory, SAP QA consulting, or technical customer-facing roles.
• Leadership roles in SAP implementation projects particularly in FI, SD, or MM domains.
• Experience with SAP test automation, quality assurance consulting, regression testing, impact-based testing, and structured testing frameworks.
• Expertise in transitioning SAP testing from manual or script recorder methods to structured automation frameworks.
• Hands-on support for proposals, RFP responses, technical presentations, solution workshops, PoCs, or enterprise sales cycles.

Technical and Functional Expertise

• SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration testing methodologies.
• Testing implications of RISE with SAP architecture.
• Functional proficiency across SAP modules including SD, MM, FI, PP, EWM, HR, or similar.
• Expertise in SAP UI5 and Fiori testing environments.
• Knowledge of SAP OData services, RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, and interface flows.
• Familiarity with CPI and PI/PO integration setups.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression testing, and data migration validations.
