Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Power BI and DAX Developer with 7 to 9 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. The candidate will leverage skills in Power BI, data modeling, DAX, SQL, and data visualization to convert complex business data into practical insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement interactive Power BI dashboards and detailed reports.
- Analyze and capture business requirements to build tailored analytical solutions.
- Create and enhance data models, datasets, and optimize report performance.
- Construct advanced calculations using DAX and Power Query (M Language).
- Connect Power BI to diverse data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, APIs, Azure, and other databases.
- Ensure data validation procedures to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
- Manage scheduled report refreshes and administer Power BI Service environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts for reporting deliveries.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports and dashboards.
- Document processes and adhere to best practices in BI development.
Required Technical Expertise
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power BI platform.
- Expert-level knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Strong command of Power Query and M Language scripting.
- Extensive experience with SQL querying and database management.
- Competence in data modeling techniques such as Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Understanding of ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
- Experience managing Power BI Service, including Gateway, Workspaces, and implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Foundational knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Strong skills in Excel and advanced reporting functionalities.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Some exposure to Databricks platform.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Basic experience in analytics programming languages such as Python or R.
- Comfortable working within Agile and Scrum project environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 9 years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence or analytics development.
- Certification in Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
