Job description
Overview
Join Canada Post as a Postmaster located in Clyde, Alberta, serving as a key community representative and supervisor within the postal service. This permanent full-time role involves leading retail postal services and ensuring customer satisfaction by promoting postal products and managing operational priorities.
Key Duties
- Engage with the local community to provide information and support regarding Canada Post products and services.
- Proactively sell and promote the full range of postal offerings to individual and business customers.
- Oversee the post office operations, guaranteeing adherence to retail hours and mail delivery schedules.
- Manage postal revenues, assets, and related financial responsibilities.
- Keep accurate records and prepare necessary reports for operational oversight.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff performance to maintain high service standards.
- Support the efficient management of mail delivery routes.
Candidate Profile
- Completion of High School or equivalent provincial certification; experience in business administration is advantageous.
- Proven leadership abilities in directing and motivating teams.
- Experience in customer-facing roles within retail or service industries, including handling sales and transactions.
- Familiarity with postal regulations, mail processing methods, and service protocols.
- Physical capability to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 pounds, move boxes, sort mail, and stand for prolonged durations.
Additional Information
- Application priority is granted to internal Canada Post employees who are members of the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association (CPAA) within the relevant area.
- Applicants must be able to maintain post office operations aligned with retail hours and delivery expectations.
- Public service hours may be subject to adjustment as determined by Canada Post.
