Job Overview
Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver based at the Armagh Delivery Office (BT61 7AA). This is a permanent full-time position offering £13.68 per hour paid monthly with opportunities for paid overtime. Working hours are 35 per week, generally five days in six from Monday to Saturday, between 08:15 and 16:30. You will work on a rotating schedule, including weekend shifts, delivering mail across Armagh with routes and hours varying according to demand.
Key Duties
- Sorting letters and parcels at the delivery office
- Delivering mail via van and on foot in your local area
- Establishing positive relationships with customers
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
What the Role Entails
You will be delivering more than just mail — including exam results, birthday cards, business orders, and other important deliveries. The job involves walking up to 12 miles daily, driving a Royal Mail van, coping with fast-paced, physically demanding activity, and providing excellent customer service.
Candidate Profile
- Must have a full UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points, registered in your name and current address
- Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
- Physically fit to handle long distance walking, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting mailbags weighing over 10kg
- Dependable, self-motivated, organised, and resilient in busy environments
- Customer-centric with pride in consistent, high-quality service
- Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Additional Information
A Royal Mail uniform and red van will be provided. As part of your duties, you will securely deliver all items on your route, including election materials and specific goods like food and alcohol in compliance with company standards. Roles working 35-37 hours per week are classed full-time, though contracts under 37 hours are technically part-time.
