Job Overview

The Porter role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety across key warehouse areas to ensure a hazard-free environment for both customers and employees. The Porter is responsible for routinely managing spills, keeping sanitary conditions according to company HACCP standards, and maintaining detailed cleaning logs daily. Additional responsibilities may include minor facility upkeep such as paint touchups, wet pallet cleaning, and lighting maintenance as assigned by management.

Key Duties

• Sweeping and cleaning of both interior and exterior premises of the building.
• Sanitation and upkeep of restrooms throughout the facility.
• Cleaning windows, doors, and coffee areas regularly or as required.
• Maintaining trash bins and managing waste throughout the premises.
• Operating equipment including trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when needed.
• Promptly managing spill cleanups within the warehouse environment.
• Supporting employee break room cleanliness according to scheduled routines.
• Collaborating with department managers to clean aisles efficiently.
• Verifying compliance with HACCP guidelines and ensuring sanitation logs are properly maintained.
• Performing additional duties assigned by management to support warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication skills for workplace interaction.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation practices and standards.
• Familiarity with operating floor cleaning machinery, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds safely.
