Job Overview

The Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse, ensuring all areas are hazard-free for both customers and staff. This position involves managing sanitation procedures, maintaining cleaning logs as per HACCP standards, and performing minor maintenance tasks as delegated by the branch manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping of both indoor and outdoor building areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all facility restrooms.
• Clean windows, doors, and the coffee station as necessary.
• Manage trash containers and maintain orderly premises.
• Operate equipment including trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when required.
• Handle spill cleanups within the warehouse promptly.
• Maintain employee break room cleanliness following the set schedule.
• Support department managers in cleaning aisles as needed.
• Verify compliance with HACCP sanitation guidelines and daily sanitation logs.
• Assist management with additional duties such as minor painting, wet pallet cleaning, and lighting maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Effective communication abilities.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with floor machines, balers, and trash compactors is advantageous.
• Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
