Overview of Jurong Port

Jurong Port specializes in multipurpose port operations, efficiently managing general, bulk, and containerized cargo. Its operations include the management of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, as well as Lighter Terminals located in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides its base in Singapore, Jurong Port maintains joint ventures internationally in China and Indonesia. In 2016, the terminals handled nearly 35 million tons of cargo and 560,000 TEUs of container shipments.

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve vessel profile submissions through the Modernised JP-Online platform.
• Accurately process berth applications and ensure all relevant data is updated.
• Allocate cargo-client codes, determine cargo transportation modes, storage assignments, and crane distribution as required.
• Maintain and verify vessel data within the JP vessel master database to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure the cement vessel bookings from the Cement Vessel Reservation System are converted into formal berth applications promptly.
• Update all changes in the Berth Application and Planning System timely.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emails to facilitate smooth vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and crane assignments.
• Collaborate with agents and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) authorities to comply with the Maritime and Port Authority's regulations on Dangerous Goods (DG) limits.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum of five years of experience within port operations or a related industry.
• Capability to work extended 12-hour shifts.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing customer requirements in a professional manner.
• Familiarity with port operational procedures is beneficial.
• Strong teamwork abilities accompanied by effective communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in written communication.
