Position Overview
The Pool Technician role, reporting to the Director of Engineering within the Engineering department, is responsible for the effective operation, routine upkeep, and repair of the hotel's pool facilities and associated equipment and structures, ensuring all meet required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work a weekly schedule totaling 48 hours, with designated breaks including 15 minutes for breakfast, 30 minutes for lunch, 15 minutes tea break, and 30 minutes dinner at the staff canteen.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper monitoring of assigned swimming pools daily.
- Ensure pool water quality consistently meets prescribed standards through daily testing and record keeping.
- Keep pool areas safe, clean, and free of hazards.
- Supervise pool water consumption and promptly report any irregularities.
- Manage materials and tools carefully, track stock levels, and place orders when necessary.
- Perform repairs on existing pool systems and equipment, including preventive maintenance on filters, pumps, dosing systems, and chlorinators.
- Stay informed and comply with current safety regulations and plumbing codes relevant to pool maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure satisfaction and clear understanding of task progress.
- Maintain detailed work logs and reports on job activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderly condition of plant operation equipment and facilities.
- Be prepared to work extra hours and respond promptly to emergencies such as fires or environmental hazards.
- Adhere strictly to company safety guidelines, attendance policies, uniform standards, and grooming requirements.
- Keep the work environment tidy and hazard-free.
- Exercise flexibility in assigned tasks as needed and demonstrate a proactive, self-starting approach.
- Follow any additional instructions and perform related duties as assigned by management; job description is subject to updates as needed.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of pool water treatment processes.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge relevant to pool maintenance systems.
- Awareness of applicable health and safety regulations and commitment to compliance.
