Role Overview

We are looking for a vigilant, customer-oriented Pool Lifeguard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all pool visitors. This position involves continuous monitoring of the aquatic area, enforcing safety rules, providing emergency response including first aid, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment around the pool.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visual supervision of swimmers from designated lifeguard positions, promptly identifying and addressing any safety risks.
• Enforce pool rules consistently and fairly to prevent accidents and ensure a pleasant atmosphere for guests.
• Carry out water rescues and administer first aid, CPR, and use an AED following established protocols and training.
• React swiftly and calmly during incidents; complete incident reports and coordinate with management or emergency services as needed.
• Perform regular poolside inspections, monitor water clarity, and report hazards, maintenance, or chemical issues to the technical team.
• Help with basic pool maintenance tasks like cleaning pool deck areas, verifying safety equipment presence, and ensuring rescue gear is in proper working condition.
• Deliver friendly and professional customer service by responding to queries about pool facilities, session schedules, and safety guidelines.
• Assist swim instructors and oversee public swim sessions as required, maintaining proper supervision ratios at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions, drills, and team meetings to stay current with safety standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a valid ADQCC lifeguard certification and up-to-date first aid/CPR credentials is mandatory.
• Prior lifeguarding or supervisory experience in a pool or leisure center environment is preferred.
• Exceptional observational skills with the ability to remain alert and attentive for long durations.
• Calmness under pressure and capability to make quick, clear decisions during emergencies.
• Effective verbal communication skills in English, capable of providing clear instructions and engaging courteously with guests of all age groups.
• Physically fit with strong swimming skills necessary for water rescues and aquatic assistance.
• Dependable and punctual, with the flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Training

• Certification in emergency first aid at work or an equivalent qualification, alongside current CPR/AED training, is required.
• Valid ADQCC certification is essential.
• Training in water-based rescue techniques and oxygen administration will be considered advantageous.
