Job Overview

Wood seeks a seasoned Lead Process Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, within our Oil, Gas & New Energies division. This role predominantly requires an onsite presence to meet project demands and client expectations.

About the Role

As the PMC Lead Process Engineer, you will spearhead all process engineering activities for ADNOC projects, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards and international best practices. You'll lead technical teams, review EPC contractor deliverables, and enhance process designs to support timely, safe project execution within budget.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination and integration within the process engineering team of the integrated project management team (IPMT).
  • Review and endorse process engineering designs from engineering consultants and EPC contractors, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute technical expertise to design option analyses and business model development for process optimization.
  • Participate in selecting and sizing equipment with a focus on optimization and standardization.
  • Ensure facility designs comply with current corporate environmental and health standards.
  • Maximize utilization of existing infrastructure while optimizing new project facilities.
  • Engage in layout, design, and model reviews as well as technical workshops.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for technical support and coordination.
  • Participate in bid evaluations, technical assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Support installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases with technical guidance.
  • Report progress and technical matters to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and Project Managers.
  • Liaise regularly with internal teams and external contractors to maintain communication and project alignment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of experience within the oil and gas sector in relevant process engineering roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and effective interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes, standards, and engineering software.
  • Proficient in planning and problem-solving with the capacity to make independent technical decisions.
