Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems across various platforms for water and wastewater treatment applications.
  • Possess strong programming skills on PLCs and SCADA systems including Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens platforms, utilizing tools such as Unity Pro, EcoStruxure, ControlLogix, RSLogix5000, Factory Talk View, and TIA Portal.
  • Configure and conduct testing of PLC data communication and input/output networks.
  • Interpret engineering documents such as P&IDs, process design guidelines, electrical schematics, and network communication architectures.
  • Engage with cross-functional project teams to clarify input documentation and understand project requirements.
  • Adhere to contract and client specifications precisely.
  • Oversee project timelines, scope, and budget; communicate risks and opportunities promptly to management.
  • Lead projects ensuring quality deliverables with a target of 95% first-time yield, managing hours and schedules effectively.
  • Guide and coordinate other automation programming staff where needed.
  • Adapt to learning new tools, processes, and technologies as required.
  • Provide remote support to field service teams during commissioning phases for timely issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with third-party system integrators to align plant design and operations.
  • Execute projects involving diverse water treatment technologies including Ion Exchange, various ultrafiltration methods, Membrane Bioreactors, Reverse Osmosis, Electro Deionization, and others.
  • Participate in client-witnessed factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and other control system verifications as necessary.

Work Experience

  • Hands-on experience in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming for water/wastewater treatment control systems.
  • Proficiency with programming tools and platforms including Unity Pro, EcoStruxure, ControlLogix, RSLogix5000, Factory Talk View (both Machine and Site Editions), and Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Experience in configuring and testing PLC data communication and IO networks.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical documents such as P&IDs, electrical schematics, and communications network architectures.
  • Collaborative skillset to work with cross-disciplinary project teams for clarifications and requirement gathering.

Additional Information

  • This role involves working second shift hours from 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
  • Transportation is provided via cab facilities for second shift employees including pickup and drop.
  • Employees working the second shift receive an additional allowance of ₹6000 per month on a prorated basis.
