Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a proficient Platform Engineer to join our technology team based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role centers around designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms and infrastructure that enable modern application development and engineering efforts. You will play a key role in automating cloud operations, improving reliability, and enhancing developer experience in a vibrant professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate scalable cloud and platform infrastructure systems.
• Create and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient software deployment.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, setup, deployment, and routine operations.
• Work hands-on with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code principles using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Manage container platforms including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system health, performance metrics, availability, and capacity to maintain optimal operations.
• Implement and manage observability frameworks encompassing logging, metrics collection, alerting, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to streamline deployment workflows and improve developer tools and experience.
• Contribute to security measures, backup, disaster recovery plans, and infrastructure resilience.
• Troubleshoot and analyze incidents, performing root-cause investigations for continuous improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, adherence to architecture standards, and operational protocols.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of four years' experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Strong foundation in Linux operating systems, networking concepts, distributed computing, and cloud architecture design.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in container orchestration using Kubernetes and container technology like Docker.
• Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and configuration automation tools like Ansible.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Programming or scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or equivalents.
• Excellent analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, communication skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
• Experience working in UAE or GCC countries is considered beneficial.
• Relevant Cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Infrastructure certifications are advantageous.
