Overview
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Plasterer to join our expanding team to support responsive repairs in Dover, working mainly on occupied social housing properties. This permanent full-time position offers an annual salary of up to £33,967.90, including a company van and fuel card. The typical workweek is 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform plastering repairs in occupied residential properties.
- Execute patch repairs on walls and ceilings caused by leaks, electrical installations, or other trades.
- Prepare surfaces and apply a variety of plaster techniques including bonding, boarding, rendering, and skimming.
- Restore damaged walls and ceilings via patchwork or full re-plastering.
- Apply full wall and ceiling skims where necessary.
- Finish areas around door frames, windows, sockets, and piping with precision.
- Mix and apply plaster by using suitable tools and methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and protect residents’ belongings and flooring during work.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Record job details, materials, and completion information via handheld devices or paperwork.
- Exhibit professional conduct while working in residents’ homes, ensuring high customer care.
- Identify and report any extra work, property issues, or safeguarding concerns.
- Participate in an on-call emergency rota as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Solid experience in domestic plastering, specifically in repairs and maintenance.
- Possession of a full UK driving license with at least 3 months held and fewer than 9 penalty points.
- Capability to work independently and effectively manage workload.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with customer service experience in occupied homes.
- Understanding and application of health and safety protocols.
- Competency with handheld job management technology.
- Willingness to be part of the out-of-hours emergency response team.
