Position Overview
We are inviting seasoned Civil Construction Excavator Operators to join our expanding team on the Wakehurst Parkway Improvement Project in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This important road upgrade involves shoulder widening, kerb adjustments, intersection enhancements, additional traffic lanes, and flood mitigation efforts.
Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in earthworks and road construction operations, handling excavators up to 35 tonnes within a busy urban construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators up to 35 tonnes efficiently and safely
- Perform GPS-guided final trim excavation accurately according to specifications
- Support earthworks, drainage, and pavement construction tasks
- Work cautiously around live utilities and existing infrastructure
- Ensure environmental control measures are implemented and maintained
- Conduct pre-start inspections and regular equipment checks
- Collaborate effectively with site teams to meet project deadlines
- Be flexible to work occasional night shifts and weekends as necessary
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators up to 35 tonnes on civil construction projects
- Experience using GPS technology for final trim excavation
- Background working on urban road construction and in proximity to underground services
- Strong dedication to safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Possession of nationally recognized Excavator Operator certification/ticket
- Holds a Construction White Card
- Valid driver's licence
- Current Police Clearance or capability to obtain one
- Full legal right to work in Australia
- Availability to perform night and weekend shifts when required

Work Schedule and Location
- Monday to Friday standard shifts
- Weekend and night shifts as project demands dictate
