About The Role
We are looking to recruit an accomplished Planning Specialist to facilitate the successful execution of significant capital projects in a fast-moving and challenging environment. The individual will be entrusted with creating, managing, monitoring, and analyzing integrated schedules as well as cost data for a portfolio comprised of major projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules with Primavera P6 software.
- Consolidate various project schedules into comprehensive management summaries.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track schedule execution and detect potential risks, delays, or impacts.
- Gather and verify schedule and cost information across project portfolios.
- Generate regular reports on progress, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Communicate schedule and cost updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Assess how project modifications affect overall scheduling.
- Perform schedule risk assessments using Primavera Risk Analysis tools.
- Identify trends and performance gaps, suggesting corrections to improve delivery.
- Work closely with project teams and internal departments, including conducting planning workshops and coordination meetings.
- Support project management teams in planning, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Maintain clear communication channels to resolve planning issues with both internal and external parties.
- Review contractor schedules and progress reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Verify contractor progress measurement techniques and approve schedule revisions.
- Analyze contractor schedule performance and recommend enhancements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6, version 22 or later.
- Experience managing integrated schedules involving multiple large-scale projects.
- Solid knowledge of project controls, planning methodologies, and schedule risk evaluation.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and forecasting skills.
- Capacity to work independently while managing competing priorities within strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation abilities.
- High level of detail orientation and discretion in managing confidential data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, with preferred knowledge of Power BI.
Academic and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in project execution; of which 6 years must relate to major projects within the oil and gas or similar industries, ideally supporting business reporting with extensive large-project knowledge.
- Experience working with National or International Oil Companies considered advantageous.
