Planning Manager - Data Center Projects

About the Role

URC Construction (P) Ltd is looking for a skilled Planning Manager to oversee project planning, scheduling, and monitoring for large-scale construction projects, preferably with experience in data center construction. The role demands managing comprehensive planning activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update detailed project schedules leveraging Primavera P6 software.
• Develop baseline schedules, resource allocation plans, and recovery strategies to keep projects on track.
• Track project progress, identify any delays early, and suggest appropriate corrective measures.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Client teams to coordinate timely project execution.
• Monitor critical paths, milestones, and productivity indicators to maintain project flow.
• Prepare detailed MIS reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate status to management.
• Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation plans accordingly.
• Enforce adherence to timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead periodic planning reviews and provide data-backed insights to aid managerial decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Over 10 years’ experience in project planning and control within construction.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and strong knowledge of scheduling techniques.
• Track record of managing large commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience working on data center or building construction projects favored.
• Familiarity with project control tools, cost-monitoring practices, and reporting systems.
• Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
