Planning Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Planning Engineer to manage project scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting for significant electrical and infrastructure initiatives. You will create and maintain robust project timelines utilizing Primavera P6, ensuring adherence to milestones and contractual agreements. Your role involves monitoring progress, detecting delays and risks early, and executing proactive recovery plans to keep projects on track. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, clients, and external consultants will be essential to ensure project safety, efficiency, and compliance with contractual, ISO, and HSE standards. This position suits a candidate skilled in analysis and technical planning, eager to contribute to the success of UAE's engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and update detailed project schedules and baseline programs with Primavera P6 for electrical and infrastructure projects.
• Monitor actual progress against planned schedules; produce detailed weekly and monthly progress reports, incorporating S-curves and forward-looking schedules.
• Document all project phases including engineering outputs, procurement, material management, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Identify delays, risks, and critical path tasks; devise and implement mitigation and recovery strategies to meet deadlines.
• Assist with delay assessments, preparation of extension of time claims, and ensure project control aligns with contractual objectives.
• Coordinate with project teams, procurement, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to support effective project delivery.
• Ensure reporting and planning comply with contract terms, ISO standards, and health, safety, and environmental policies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation disciplines.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a Planning Engineer.
• Proficient hands-on experience with Primavera P6 software.
• Background in electrical, utility, substation, or infrastructure projects; experience in the UAE utilities sector is beneficial.
• In-depth knowledge of project planning, delay analysis, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
• Familiarity with MS Excel; proficiency in MS Project and Power BI is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines, and coordinating multiple stakeholders.

Employment Information

• Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
• Work arrangement: On-site presence required.
• Working days and hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a one-hour daily break.
• Immediate joining is preferred.
• Company provides transportation to the site location.
