Planning Engineer

Role Overview

The Planning Engineer will manage the planning and scheduling, track execution progress, and compile progress reports for Thermal Power Plant projects. This includes oversight of Turbine Generator (TG) maintenance such as overhauling, erection, testing, and commissioning tasks ensuring projects meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Devise detailed project schedules, bar charts, and work breakdown structures (WBS) for all project phases.
• Plan and oversee minor, major, and capital overhauls of Turbine Generators.
• Create timelines for erection, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Estimate and plan requirements for manpower, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor project progress daily, weekly, and monthly against targets and schedules.
• Identify critical path delays and develop recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with site engineers, contractors, clients, and project management.
• Generate daily progress reports, weekly updates, monthly MIS reports, and management dashboards.
• Manage shutdown schedules including dismantling, inspection, assembly, and trial runs.
• Ensure availability of materials, drawings, work permits, and readiness of sites.
• Track project financials, productivity, resource use, and working hours.
• Coordinate quality inspections, safety adherence, and commissioning documentation.
• Maintain detailed records such as progress logs, look-ahead plans, hindrance registers, and completion reports.
• Facilitate project closure activities including punch-point resolution and documentation handover.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
