Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Planning Engineer to join a prominent mixed-use hospitality development project in Doha, Qatar. This contract role, based onsite, emphasizes schedule management, progress tracking, and cross-team coordination over a period of six months with the possibility of extension. Ideal candidates will have approximately 8 to 10 years of relevant construction planning experience and preferred certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules including baseline, current, and look-ahead programmes using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Track project progress through detailed reporting, S-curves analysis, and productivity metrics.
- Perform critical path and resource allocation analyses to identify potential risks and scheduling constraints.
- Create short-term planning schedules spanning 2 to 4 weeks, coordinating closely with site execution teams.
- Design and update dashboards and Management Information System (MIS) reports utilizing Excel, Power BI, and Primavera tools to provide high-level project visibility.
- Prepare comprehensive periodic progress reports for project management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with various teams including Commercial, QA/QC, HSE, Billing, and site personnel to ensure schedule alignment and synchronized execution.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A solid 8 to 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale construction projects, preferably in hospitality, high-rise, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, advanced MS Excel skills (such as pivot tables, dashboards, macros), and general MS Office tools; knowledge of Power BI and Asta Powerproject is a plus.
- Strong grasp of construction sequencing and project progress management.
- PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must hold a valid Qatar No Objection Certificate (NOC) or a transferable residence visa.
- Immediate availability is highly desired.
