Job description
Role Overview
As a Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing detailed schedules for EPC projects using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project milestones and facilitating decision-making through progress monitoring and forecasting. Coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders will be crucial to maintain project timelines, financial health, and quality standards.
Key Duties
- Create, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules including baseline, recovery, and short-term look-ahead plans.
- Track project progress against schedules, identify deviations, analyze critical paths, and suggest corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Forecast project completion timelines and assist management in scheduling decisions.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring progress aligns with plans.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports for management and client communication, utilizing project dashboards and performance metrics like S-curves and resource histograms.
- Maintain robust planning documentation and records.
- Supervise procurement and manufacturing processes, coordinating milestones from material sourcing to delivery on site.
- Forecast material needs and facilitate manufacturing clearance matching project timelines, tracking deliverables from vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely mobilization of suppliers and subcontractors to sustain project velocity.
- Compile cost summaries, mobilization estimates, and techno-commercial reports to monitor financial status and project health.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting, cost control, and assessing overall project performance.
- Support change management processes including delay analyses and extensions of time evaluations.
- Coordinate schedule updates and risk mitigation strategies with engineering, procurement, quality, HSE, and commercial teams.
- Engage in progress review meetings with stakeholders such as SEC, National Grid, and subcontractors.
