Job description

Role and Responsibilities

Stream Services seeks a detail-oriented Planning and Scheduling Officer to support the delivery of disability services across regional and remote areas of Queensland. This crucial operational position focuses on creating, managing, and communicating participant support schedules, ensuring skilled workers address each participant’s specific needs and preferences. Key duties include roster development, scheduling adjustments, communication coordination, timesheet oversight, and supporting fleet management. The role also involves participating in an on-call rotation covering evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Duties

  • Compile, review, finalize, and disseminate participant support rosters
  • Handle routine staff backfill, shift modifications, and service interruptions
  • Maintain active communication with participants, representatives, and staff to confirm leave, availability, preferences, and adjustments
  • Track upcoming vacancies, unfilled shifts, leave, and potential coverage risks
  • Ensure accurate records of schedules and rosters are kept
  • Monitor timesheet accuracy and address any discrepancies
  • Support reporting related to workforce, leave, and utilization
  • Assist with onboarding administrative tasks for new participants and employees
  • Manage vehicle booking information and contribute to fleet coordination
  • Participate in the on-call schedule including after-hours and public holidays

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background in administration, rostering, scheduling, customer service, or coordination roles
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability for practical problem-solving and sound judgment with appropriate escalation when needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Quick to learn rostering and participant-management software systems

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with the NDIS framework and disability support services
  • Experience using Akuety or comparable scheduling platforms
  • Background in preparing workforce or operational reports
  • Relevant qualifications in business administration, community services, or operations management
  • Experience supporting services in regional, rural, or remote areas

Mandatory Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • National Police Check
  • Blue Card if applicable
