About the Role
Join Mears Group PLC, the UK's leading repairs, maintenance, and regeneration service provider, as a Planner based in Rainham, London. This permanent full-time position offers a competitive annual salary of £28,927.92. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 42.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently scheduling operatives and subcontractors to optimize resource use and ensure on-time repair completion.
- Daily monitoring and updating of repair jobs, including managing appointments, follow-up work, and overdue tasks.
- Supporting IT system usage by ensuring operatives update their PDA devices and correctly entering schedule of rates.
- Maintaining effective communication with residents, operatives, and stakeholders to keep all parties informed.
- Collaborating closely with administrators, supervisors, and contractors to deliver a smooth service.
- Providing coverage for other planners during absences and attending meetings or training sessions as necessary.
- Adhering strictly to company policies and health and safety protocols.
- Assisting with reporting and performance tracking to meet KPIs and targets.
- Prioritizing emergency and urgent repair jobs to reduce disruption for residents.
- Keeping accurate records, data, and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to planning and scheduling processes.
- Offering general administrative support to the repairs team as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with job management or scheduling software.
- Background in scheduling and planning multi-trade repairs using appointment systems.
- Capability to allocate work orders effectively to trade operatives.
- Excellent time management, organizational abilities, and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with the capacity to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Good knowledge of repairs and maintenance workflows.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
