Planner Engineer

Job Overview

The Planner Engineer will be responsible for developing, updating, and overseeing project schedules and work programs to ensure timely and efficient execution of construction and infrastructure projects. This role requires close coordination with project teams, consultants, and contractors, as well as ongoing evaluation of project performance and progress against set benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and monitor detailed project schedules and work plans.
• Evaluate project progress and compare actual performance against approved schedules.
• Identify potential delays, risks, and critical tasks, and propose solutions to mitigate issues.
• Establish and maintain the project critical path and key milestone tracking.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders including project teams, consultants, and contractors to maintain project timelines.
• Prepare comprehensive progress reporting, look-ahead planning, recovery strategies, and forecasting documents.
• Manage resource distribution, productivity levels, and overall project effectiveness.
• Review and assess the schedules submitted by contractors and subcontractors for consistency and feasibility.
• Analyze and evaluate Extension of Time (EOT) claims and other time-related contract variations.
• Provide support in project planning, cost control, and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual deadlines, project milestones, and overall objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related engineering fields.
• Between 5 to 10 years of professional experience in project planning, scheduling, and controls within the construction or infrastructure industries.
• Proven experience working in the GCC region, especially on projects in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, or Bahrain.
• Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mandatory possession of UPDA registration.
