About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Pizza Baker to join the team at ÜberQuell St. Pauli, located in Hamburg, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing dough, sauces, toppings, and crafting pizzas following standardized recipes and quality benchmarks. Key daily duties include operating pizza ovens, carefully monitoring cooking durations and temperatures, and maintaining a tidy, well-organized workstation in line with food safety protocols.
The role also requires collaboration with the kitchen and service teams to guarantee swift order deliveries and consistent product quality. Occasionally, the Pizza Baker will assist with customer interaction by addressing inquiries about the products and helping foster a friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and assemble pizzas according to specified recipes and quality standards.
- Operate pizza ovens efficiently while managing cooking times and temperatures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workstation, adhering strictly to food safety regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Engage with customers as needed to answer product questions and support a hospitable atmosphere.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven skills in food preparation and cooking, ideally with pizza or similar kitchen experience.
- Understanding of food and beverage operations, including basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality control measures.
- Good communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment including flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
- Team player mentality with eagerness to learn and comply with established procedures.
- Previous experience in restaurant, bar, or hospitality sectors is preferable.
- Basic proficiency in German or English sufficient for workplace communication.
