Job description
Role Summary
The Physician Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting medical doctors and ensuring the efficient coordination of patient care activities. Key daily responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, maintaining and updating medical records, and facilitating effective communication among physicians, nursing teams, and administrative personnel. The coordinator organizes clinical workflows, confirms details related to procedures, and assists with patient follow-ups and referrals to promote continuous care.
This position also manages patient inquiries, provides assistance with documentation required for hospital and regulatory compliance, and fosters a respectful, confidential, and patient-centric atmosphere.
Essential Qualifications
- Excellent organizational capabilities, including managing appointment scheduling, prioritizing workflows, and mastering time management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective liaison with physicians, clinical staff, and patients.
- High attention to detail and precision in handling medical documentation and patient information.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and standard office software.
- Understanding of healthcare operations, clinical terminology, and patient care processes, ideally within hospital or clinic environments.
- A demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality, ethical behavior, and respectful, inclusive communication.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced clinical setting and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Possession of a relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related disciplines, with prior coordination experience preferred.
- Fluency in English is required, while Arabic proficiency is highly advantageous for communication with patients and staff.
