Phlebotomist Role Overview
Based at our Galway clinic (3-5 William Street, H91 Y9HE), the phlebotomist plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional client experience from arrival through blood collection for private and corporate clients. This permanent full-time position involves alternating weekly shifts Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday from 8:40 AM to 5:20 PM. Candidates must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or willing to receive vaccination after a successful interview and will undergo Garda vetting per Care Quality Commission guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive client appointments including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurement, and accurate entry of data into the Patient Information System (PIS).
- Use sensitive and clear communication to ensure clients fully understand procedures and consent is properly obtained.
- Maintain and update precise records in the PIS, including uploading all relevant documentation.
- Professionally represent Randox Health at offsite events and client appointments as required, at least once monthly.
- Participate actively in upselling and cross-selling health services within the private clinic.
- Meet and exceed sales targets through proactive engagement.
- Ensure accurate completion of company forms, specimen labeling, and laboratory test orders.
- Demonstrate strong IT proficiency to manage multiple software systems and daily operational tasks.
Essential Requirements
- Certification or equivalent training and experience in phlebotomy.
- Confidence and proficiency using computer programs.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Ability to perform duties at offsite locations periodically.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Right to work legally in Ireland without need for visa sponsorship.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience within private healthcare environments.
- Customer service background.
- At least six months’ practical experience in phlebotomy.
- Sales or retail experience.
- Valid Irish driving licence.
Additional Requirements and Information
- Applicants may be subjected to Garda vetting.
- Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory due to contact with live blood samples.
- Contract type is permanent, full time.
Working Hours and Location
