About the Role
Amentum, a leading global provider of advanced engineering, technical, and professional services to the US government and allied sectors, is seeking a dedicated Pest Controller to join a unique program supporting the US Navy on Diego Garcia island.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing routine pest control activities in unoccupied areas during standard government working hours, excluding federal holidays or as scheduled.
- Applying pesticides carefully to manage pest populations across various environments, following safety protocols and pest management best practices.
- Utilizing a mix of preventive, chemical, and non-chemical strategies specifically tailored to project requirements and site conditions.
- Proper handling and disposal of pesticides, rinse water, containers, and residues in compliance with label instructions and local environmental laws.
- Maintaining accurate records of pesticide use, storage, and disposal practices.
- Adhering strictly to safety and environmental regulations to ensure safe application, handling, and disposal of chemicals.
- Regularly inspecting work areas to identify and resolve pest-related issues effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- At least two years of practical experience in pest control operations, focusing on the safe application and handling of pesticides.
- Familiarity with safe pesticide use, environmental regulations, waste disposal, and pest control policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and organize pest control tasks within designated hours.
- Capability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements throughout deployment.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Experience working in challenging OCONUS settings with diverse multinational teams.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for the respective country.
- Valid visa aligned with U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide requirements.
- Certification or licensure related to pest control or pesticide application.
- Knowledge of military or government pest management protocols.
- Experience managing pest control on large-scale properties or installations.
