Overview
Cape Fox Mission Systems, a Cape Fox subsidiary, is recruiting a Personnel Assistant I to join our Garden Island, Australia team supporting a federal government client. This role entails frontline responsibilities as a Verifying Official at an Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) ID card site, providing essential customer service by confirming identities and eligibility, issuing and managing Common Access Cards (CAC) and Uniformed Services Identification (USID) cards, and handling various Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) related updates in adherence with Department of Defense and Bureau of Naval Personnel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and distribute CACs according to DoD regulations and Air Force directives, manage issuance and collection of USID and other ID cards.
- Perform duties as a Verifying Official ensuring accuracy of data input.
- Authenticate identity and eligibility of DoD beneficiaries following Homeland Security and Federal Information Processing standards.
- Manage accountability of card stocks, equipment, and records.
- Provide customer support including PIN resets and assistance with PKI certificates.
- Deliver courteous face-to-face service, promptly attending to customers with empathy and professional composure.
- Advise customers on eligibility, application processes, and DEERS inquiries; respond to telephone requests.
- Conduct monthly returns of failed CACs to Defense Manpower Data Center and maintain RAPIDS equipment including hardware and consumables.
- Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information, maintain strict control over RAPIDS workstations and security of supplies.
- Report any unauthorized or unsafe activity immediately to security and document potential security violations.
- Encourage customers to use the government’s feedback system for service improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least one year of experience in customer service roles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to explain complex entitlement and collection information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with office technology including computers, typewriters, copiers, fax, and scanners.
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and military terminology.
- Background in military personnel or DEERS/RAPIDS systems, either private or federal.
- Ability to maintain discretion and exercise limited judgment when necessary.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 3 background investigation and Department of Defense CAC.
- Must reside locally and hold authorization to work according to the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Compensation and Benefits
This non-exempt position offers an hourly wage ranging from $33.42 to $35.27. Our benefits package includes paid time off, company holidays, health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
