Overview

Based at the Kill office, Howden Ireland is seeking a permanent Team Leader for its Personal Lines division. This role involves overseeing an administration and renewals team, ensuring that post management, renewals, and audits are handled efficiently within the Personal Lines business.

Key Duties

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, workflow, and cost savings while adhering to best practice standards.
  • Execute company compliance protocols and office procedures, including those related to business development, renewals, and debt management.
  • Supervise all incoming and outgoing post for Personal Lines, ensuring correct distribution to relevant personnel.
  • Oversee the centralized Personal Lines inbox, collaborating closely with all Personal Lines executives.
  • Coordinate the renewal list distribution to guarantee adherence to regulatory timelines for issuing renewals.
  • Manage the cash books related to Personal Lines activities.
  • Ensure team objectives and performance targets are met effectively.
  • Stay informed on market trends, product availability, and pricing; report relevant insights and feedback to management.
  • Focus on maintaining and growing the Personal Lines account and its team capacity.
  • Handle audit responsibilities for the Personal Lines department.
  • Oversee service delivery for the Premium Finance portfolio.
  • Participate in scheduled weekly and monthly meetings as necessary.
  • Efficiently allocate workload for the administration and renewals team.
  • Manage team leave to maintain optimal staffing levels and update systems accordingly.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage direct reports through monthly one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.
  • Conduct individual performance management to uphold productivity and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for team queries and support related departments when needed.
  • Train new employees and develop procedural documentation with HR and Compliance to maintain skills matrix and record all training activities.
  • Collaborate with HR on personnel matters alongside department leadership.
  • Promote continuous professional development by encouraging qualifications and ongoing learning within the team.
  • Ensure that team members comply with annual CPD requirements through regular monitoring and organizing internal CPD sessions.
  • Maintain full compliance with Central Bank of Ireland regulations within the team.

Candidate Profile

  • At least three years of experience in an insurance account handling role.
  • Possession of CIP or MDI qualification.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong technical knowledge of personal lines insurance products.
  • Proficiency in negotiating favorable terms and conditions that benefit both clients and company interests.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction via phone and face-to-face, conducted professionally and courteously.
