Job description
Overview
Lead and oversee a team of Direct Sales and Personal Banking Officers to meet and exceed sales targets across the bank's retail and wealth product offerings. This position blends leadership responsibilities with the requirement to fulfill an individual sales quota alongside team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, mentor, and inspire a sales team to consistently achieve monthly and quarterly goals.
- Create and execute sales strategies and specific action plans aimed at expanding the customer base and increasing product usage.
- Identify and generate new business leads through direct sales, referrals, partnerships with corporations, and market activity participation.
- Maintain and achieve personal sales targets in addition to supervising team performance.
- Promote and cross-sell a comprehensive suite of banking products including deposit accounts, cards, personal and auto loans, mortgage lending, bancassurance, and investment products.
- Assign sales targets, track daily team output, and compile regular reports on sales and pipeline status for senior management.
- Establish and nurture lasting relationships with high-net-worth and affluent customers.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards including bank policies, KYC/AML guidelines, and Qatar Central Bank regulations in all sales processes.
- Recognize training requirements and facilitate skill development for team members.
- Address escalated customer issues ensuring exceptional service quality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 to 4 years of experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in direct sales within a local Qatari bank.
- Recent experience must specifically be in a team leadership role within banking.
- Experience in wealth banking is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of retail banking products and an understanding of the Qatar banking sector.
- Proven success in achieving both personal and team sales targets.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, strategic planning capabilities, and competence in generating leads.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages, written and spoken.
- Possession of a valid Qatar driving license.
- Valid Qatar residence permit (QID) and preferably sponsorship that is transferable.
