Role Summary
The People Technology Platform Engineer specializing in Workday plays a critical role in designing, developing, and enhancing SIE’s global Workday platform focused on core HR functions. Operating independently within People Technology Services, this professional orchestrates the configuration, architecture, and deployment of scalable Workday solutions tailored to business needs while adhering to governance and sustainability principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Workday platform configurations encompassing business processes, organizational setups, eligibility rules, and calculated fields.
- Develop reusable and maintainable configuration patterns aligned with platform standards.
- Translate complex business requirements into structured system solutions, ensuring alignment with technical constraints and governance frameworks.
- Lead end-to-end platform modifications including planning, building, testing, and deployment readiness.
- Maintain platform integrity and performance by addressing system issues, root cause analysis, and iterative improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, integration, and security teams to ensure cohesive platform solutions.
- Design and manage reporting data solutions utilizing Workday advanced report types to support operational and analytical needs.
- Participate actively in Agile workflows by refining user stories, managing backlog priorities, conducting testing, and ensuring delivery quality.
- Drive continuous platform optimization initiatives to improve scalability, automation, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, audit, and governance policies throughout the platform lifecycle.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with enterprise platforms, specifically direct Workday configuration and deployment expertise.
- Proven experience in designing scalable solutions including business process frameworks, calculated fields, and core system configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving configuration, data, and reporting issues within Workday.
- Practical experience developing Workday Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports in live environments.
- In-depth understanding of Workday Core HCM data models and business process data flows.
- Track record of translating business demands into effective system solutions balancing complexity, speed, and maintainability.
- Experience operating within Agile delivery teams, managing defined workstreams or sub-projects.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business perspectives clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Workday Security setups and configuration.
- Experience with Workday integration tools like EIB and Core Connectors.
- Exposure to global enterprise settings involving multiple regions.
- Familiarity with additional Workday modules such as Absence, Compensation, and Talent management.
- Contributions to platform governance, design frameworks, and standards development.

Compensation and Additional Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is €57,900 to €86,900 EUR annually. Sony Interactive Entertainment offers competitive pay considering market and location factors and provides a premium benefits package including paid time off, wellness programs, and exclusive employee discounts on Sony products. Eligibility for bonus packages is also possible.
