Role Overview

The People Services Payroll Specialist position will report to the People Services Senior Payroll Manager. The primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and compliant payroll operations for Singapore, Malaysia, and possibly other locations. The role emphasizes efficiency, simplification, and continuous enhancement of payroll and People Services processes, embracing automation and scalable practices that align with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a payroll operations expert, delivering timely, precise, and scalable payroll services while ensuring business continuity and meeting service agreements.
• Manage the entire payroll lifecycle including salary payments, pension, tax filing, liaising with finance to secure payment funding, and submitting accurate payroll journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain and update leave system configurations in line with policy changes.
• Oversee and improve the quality of service provided by external vendors.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
• Drive ongoing payroll process improvements within company guidelines to enhance operational efficiency.
• Handle audit and statutory body inquiries to maintain compliance standards.
• Contribute to projects optimizing service delivery through automation, lean methodologies, knowledge sharing, and skills development.

Candidate Profile

• Possess foundational knowledge of payroll and a strong interest in labor laws, specifically within the APAC region (with focus on Singapore and Malaysia).
• Exhibit analytical skills to tackle complex challenges strategically and enthusiastically.
• Bring entrepreneurial mindset with innovative thinking and adaptability to drive meaningful change.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong internal and external relationships and foster teamwork.
• Have experience managing vendor relationships effectively.
• Be proactive, curious, and committed to continuous improvement and collaborative teamwork.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality while ensuring task completion.
• Commit to compliance and uphold high standards of integrity.
• Familiarity with SuccessFactors, Concur, and SAP is advantageous but not required.
• Candidates with relevant payroll, HR operations experience or skills, including those with limited professional experience but appropriate competencies, are encouraged to apply.
