Position Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada located in Pembroke, Ontario, you serve as the initial point of contact for customers, ensuring a warm and friendly shopping environment. Your role is vital in promoting exceptional customer service and supporting sales floor activities to foster customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer a courteous, prompt, and professional greeting to every customer entering or leaving the store, creating memorable first and last impressions.
• Support store safety and loss prevention by tagging returned merchandise, monitoring high-value purchases like electronics, verifying receipts as needed, and reporting suspicious behavior to management or loss prevention teams. Respond appropriately to Code ADAM alerts.
• Politely address Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alerts, assist in determining why alarms activate, maintain accurate logs, and notify management of any system issues.
• Assist customers by providing shopping tools such as carts, baskets, and flyers; answer queries; offer directions; and collaborate with sales associates to locate products and services.
• Maintain a secure, tidy, and hazard-free store environment by adhering to company policies and procedures consistently.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being willing to work diverse shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support store operations smoothly.

Challenges

• Effectively manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced setting, particularly during overnight hours, while maintaining energy and focus.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting inventory or equipment up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive duties like stocking, zoning, and product organization with meticulous attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The position's starting hourly wage is $17.75 (CAD).

Qualifications
